Chain-of-Custody A documented line, from the forests to the end users to ensure traceability and accountability of the products. FSC Chain-of-Custody certification traces the path of products from forests through the supply chain to the retailers to ensure that all products come from legal and well managed forests. PEFC Chain of Custody certification outlines requirements for tracking certified material from the forest to the final product to ensure that the wood contained in the product or product line originates from certified forests. |

European Union Timber Regulations - EU The EUTR, which came into force on 3 March 2013, requires the party which places timber or timber products in the EU market for the first time (the ‘operator') to exercise ‘due diligence' to minimize the risk of placing illegally harvested timber, or products containing illegally harvested timber on the EU market. Forest Law Enforcement, Government and Trade Voluntary Partnership Agreement - EU Malaysia-EU Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade, Voluntary Partnership Agreement (FLEGT VPA) started in 2006 with the objective to ensure the export of legal timber to the EU. Underpinning the negotiation is the development of a timber legality assurance system (TLAS) which will ensure the supply and export of only legal timber to the EU. Malaysian Country Specific Guideline - Australia This is the guideline that has been prepared and will be jointly approved by the Australian and Malaysian Government. it is intended to assist Australian importers to identify regulated timber products from Malaysia. Its aim is to enable the Australian importers understand the regulatory framework in Malaysia in order for them to carry out their due deligence obligations under the Illegal Logging Prohibition Amendment Regulation 2013, which supports the Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012. |
